We stand in full solidarity with the people of 🇹🇷 Türkiye and 🇸🇾 Syria after the deadly earthquake.

We mourn with the families of the victims. Our thoughts are with them and all the brave first responders working to save lives.

We have activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The EU’s emergency Response Coordination Centre is monitoring the situation and is organising the deployment of European search and rescue teams. Our satellite system Copernicus has also been activated to provide emergency mapping services.

Teams from the 🇳🇱 Netherlands, 🇷🇴 Romania, 🇧🇬 Bulgaria, 🇭🇷 Croatia, 🇨🇿 Czechia, 🇫🇷France, 🇬🇷 Greece and 🇵🇱 Poland have been quickly mobilised. 🇮🇹 Italy and 🇭🇺 Hungary have offered their rescue teams to Türkiye as well. We stand ready to continue helping in any way we can.
